Our Wicca / Ritual Incenses and Magickal Oils are all Hand Blended using the finest herbs, spices, barks, flowers, essential oils, resins and gums available in accordance with the correct ritual & astrological correspondences, some of which are collected in tune with the appropriate lunar or planetary, zodiacal phases. These are then added at the correct time to the blend to create the true essence & vibration of the incense or oil and thus provide you with something that is more than just a nice fragrance. When you burn the incenses, or use the oils please be aware of the Love & Effort that have gone into its production and don’t abuse its power.
Since the beginning of humanity, incense has been an essential part of social and religious ritual. Our ancestors prized scents very highly and in fact, one of the first trades ever to be established was that of fragrant herbs, spices, oils, etc., for its manufacture. Cultures the world over believed fragrance to be the “Food of the Gods”, Sweet Pure & Enchanting.
Scent has the ability to change emotional states, therefore on the mundane level help achieve states of bliss, ecstasy, break depression, and create a state of wonder. Smoke provides a medium through which some etheric forms are said to materialise. People of today may laugh at the beliefs of our ancestors, but it is worthwhile to remember, the sense of smell is the oldest function of the human brain, and as such has a powerful influence over us whether one is consciously aware of it or not.
The essences of these incenses/oils will aid your meditations uplifting your consciousness to higher levels by purifying the atmosphere and self. Other uses of the incense include purification and ‘smudging’ of spaces by taking the incense burner to all corners of the house & garden or washing oneself with the smoke whilst visualizing all negative thought forms and energies being burnt off and consumed by the smoke. Resin incense is meant to be burned on small charcoal bricks, and is one of the oldest and best ways to experience how it should really smell. Trust us - once you experience the true smell of your favorite incense through the resin, you will never go back to manufactured cones or sticks.
How to use the Incense
Light the charcoal disc with a match. They are self igniting and will burn easily once lit. Place in a thurible or heatproof dish as the disk begins to fizzle and spark (sand or salt in the bottom of the dish will help retain the heat). Ensure there is an airflow around the disk to supply sufficient oxygen for burning. After about 5 minutes the charcoal will turn grey, this is the time to add the incense.
N.B. Once the packet of charcoal has been opened it is advisable to keep it in an airtight container to prevent it from getting damp and thus losing its self-igniting properties.
