The second of the Harvest festivals. This is the harvest of Fruits and Grains. Once again the day and night are equal, balanced, the God and Goddess meet in equal balance. We give thanks and feast for what has been provided to us by the Gods. Honor is given to the God for his sacrifice has he dies with the grains.
The sun persists in the waning. The weather is cooling and the produce is gathered. Feasted are made with the grains, breads, fruits, vegetables such as corn, squash and beans. Nuts have been harvested and hold the essence of life, especially the acorn which is sacred to the God.
As in the harvest of the Earth, we look at the harvest of our lives. What we put into our life and what came out of it. We take inventory of what we've propagated through the last year. The cycles of nature wax and wane, we are part of nature and so, we too have cycles in our lives. To grow and produce, the soil, the seed, the water, the sun and the nurturing is needed. This too, can be applied to ourselves and our lives.
